WEB-BASED TOURISM INFORMATION SYSTEM IN TUAL MALUKU SOUTHEAST CITY

Abstract

Tual City is a city in Maluku Province, Indonesia. Tual City is a division of Southeast Maluku Regency. Tual City is famous for having many tourist attractions that are not inferior to other areas, but because of the lack of information about tourist attractions in Tual City, many people have not known about it. The purpose of designing this web-based information system is to promote tourism in Tual City. A web-based information system is an information system that uses web or internet technology to provide information and services to users. In addition, a web-based information system becomes a medium that has quite complete information for tourists and can be viewed at any time. This media cannot be separated from the design and technology aspects in the manufacturing process. Just like other media, thesuccess of this media is also determined by the success of delivering the message under it. The method used by the author in this study is to do observations, interviews, literature studies, field studies, information system design followed byapplication development and the next is a trial. The result of this research is to produce a website that providesinformation about every tourist spot in Tual City. In this tourist information system the author uses data flowdiagrams, ERD, and reports using PHP and MySQL programming for data management. The result of designing aweb-based information system is expected to be a medium that can promote tourist attractions in Tual City.
